it’s sunday, july 14, & moon is in the starspace of sagittarius called mula. under the influence of sagittarius, we connect to our highest principles & beliefs. of course, highest is relative: the beliefs of fundamentalists are as strong as anyone else’s. moon joins saturn & ketu, the south node, in sag. saturn & ketu have had us focusing focusing focusing (or supporting us in doing so anyhoo—i hope you didn’t miss this memo!) our attention on sagittarian matters for months & will be doing so for many, many more months. they’ve been asking us to reexamine what we believe, asking us whether those beliefs really serve our highest expression of self. so while the moon is in sag for the next couple of days, our mind will be especially colored by those areas of life—could be an intense buildup to the full moon & eclipse on tuesday!
the asterism mula is ruled by nirriti, the dark goddess, who is married to adharma—that which is not dharmic; ie, not in alignment with the natural order of the universe. she had three sons—bhaya (fear), mahabhaya (great danger) & antaka (the one who causes death)—who represent some of the ways we can be pulled into the darkness, pulled off path. nirriti wants to destroy things, knock them off balance, out of place. which is very helpful if you’re using this energy as medicine to destroy disease or to, say, gut-renovate your house or to weed your garden. the key here is to make sure you don’t destroy what you really need, that you don’t accidentally undermine yourself. well, my veggie garden is sooooooo in need of some nirriti dark magic that that’s how i will put her to work today! what about you?
the thirteenth phase of the waxing moon becomes the fourteenth early this afternoon, so enjoy life this morning but watch out for feeling full to bursting with emotions later in the day, especially passions concerning your beliefs.
