daily blissit’s monday, july 15, & moon is in the starspace of sagittarius called purva ashadha. sagittarius is about teachers & teachings, about how they inspire a connection to a higher purpose. this energy is what will infuse the full moon tomorrow, which is called guru purnima, the full moon associated with our gurus, our highest teachers. & it’s a lunar eclipse. & the sun will be moving into a new sign, cancer. all of which adds up to tomorrow being a huge huge huge day, one on which it’s advisable to keep a low profile as much as possible, to meditate & honor your teachers, & not a good day to start new projects. more on that tomorrow.

purva means “first,” ashadha “not subdued.” purva ashadha suggests that our true nature cannot be subdued, contained; it is meant to flow, like water. our emotions are meant to flow like water rather than be repressed, as is our creativity. & this asterism happens (!) to be ruled by the deity apas, the water goddess.

the second chakra, swadhisthana, where we purify relationships, whether romantic or business, where we express our creativity through art or by actually creating another human being, is connected to the water element. in the beginning there was space, then air, then fire, then water, then earth. apas (water) came from tejas (fire). our yogic practices produce heat, fire, aka tapas. tapas purifies. our bodies are mostly water & when we keep our bodies pure through the tapas of right actions & a clean diet our essence cannot be subdued but will flow freely & sweetly.

it’s the fourteenth phase of the waxing moon, so emotions may be high. use this time to pause before you react & to prepare for the big day tomorrow!
