daily blissit’s wednesday, july 17, & moon is in capricorn, moving from the starspace of uttara ashadha this morning into the starspace of shravana this afternoon. capricorn wants us to get real, deal with the practicalities of life, be disciplined about our routines.

eeeegads, i went way overboard on mercury, below, so, in a nutshell: uttara ashadha invites us to separate the wheat from the chaff, to toss our “wants” if they are distractions, if they are preventing us from aligning with our midline. when we get rid of some of that noise, we can listen more closely in accordance with shravana’s shakti, tune way in to receive the wisdom of the cosmos, of the ages, which we are vehicles for, but mostly vehicles with amnesia, if you catch my drift. we do our practices, we receive teachings from teachers, in order to eventually realize that we don’t need any of that, that we’ve got it all going on. but “eventually” is the keyword—it could take lifetimes!

wednesday is ruled by mercury & mercury is retrograde through the end of the month. peeps get all freaked out about merc retrograde, but, hey, saturn & jupiter happen to be retro now & you don’t see the gnashing of teeth, the pulling out out of hair, over those transits. planets go retrograde, some more than others, some for longer periods of time than others—that’s just something they do. a retrograde planet, like any other transit, is neither good nor bad. it just means that the planet is way close to the earth & is brighter as a result. & that brighter light has more impact on us—it’s hard to avoid. it brings the concerns of that planet closer to home, asks us to pay closer attention to them, encourages us to examine those areas of life, which, b/c of the retrograde, may entail revisiting unfinished business.

for example, merc energy concerns communication & technology & discriminating intelligence, among other things. i’m an editor, which is very mercury, & a couple of months ago, i was contacted by a potential client. never heard from him after our chat … until this weekend. now he’s ready to move forward, although in total synch with merc the project probably won’t actually move forward until merc goes direct in a couple of weeks. that’s how mercury retrograde can work.

& that’s your daily bliss—do pay close attention to your words & how you use them. double-check emails & anything travel-related, make sure your computer is backed up, but you should always do so, no?
