daily blissit’s thursday, july 18, & moon is still transiting practical, serious, disciplined capricorn—so take advantage of that energy if you can. moon is also still in the starspace of capricorn called shravana until midafternoon, then moves into dhanishta.

shravana is about listening, not just hearing, but really listening. ya know how sometimes when someone is talking to you, you think you are listening but you are really busy spinning your response, going off on a mental tangent that their words sent you on? you know how sometimes you are simultaneously doing the dishes or answering email when you are on the phone? yes, i actually know people who do that & it drives me kuh-razy—partly b/c i am sensitive to noise & can hear the tapping on the keyboard or the dishes clattering against each other, partly b/c i am not double-dipping so it makes me feel that my time isn’t being valued, partly b/c you really can’t do two things at one time & do both of them thoroughly; it’s been scientifically proven! so, yeah, plz don’t do that today, b/c shravana invites us to really listen, ultimately to get so quiet, to pay such close attention, that we can receive the wisdom of scripture, which does take deeeeeeeeeeep listening to unpack.

dhanistha means being wealthy every which way, in body & soul, materially & spiritually. this asterism is represented by shiva’s drum (the mridanga) & krishna’s flute (the bansuri), both of which imply our connection to the divine music (which, yes, is surely connected to scripture b/c scripture was chanted  before it was written down for the ages). both of these instruments also happen to be hollow, which suggests that we are hollow vehicles for the music of the divine to flow through, that we are vessels just waiting to be filled with heavenly resonance of spiritual wisdom.

it’s the second phase of the waxing moon, which, wow, how serendipitous, has to do with krishna & the creativity that can flow through us when we allow ourselves to be vessels for the divine! what i said!

& that’s your daily bliss—jupiter holds sway over thursday, making the day ripe for communing with teachers & teachings so that we can become purer channels for the divine to flow through. yeah, it’s that kind of day!
