it’s tuesday, july 19, & moon is in pisces, in the starspace called revati. pisces is the last sign of the natural zodiac & thus brings a sense of completion as the moon, which is our mind/consciousness, comes full circle on its astrological journey. we can use this opportunity to take stock, review where we have traveled & ponder where we want to go. especially b/c there is no starspace, no stellar bridge, connecting pisces & aries, we want to be gentle with ourselves overnight, pause first, so we are ready to begin our journey again.
revati is ruled by pushan, the cosmic shepherd, the one who guides us hOMe, & brings a lesson about how we are constantly being guided, supported, & how we can be guides & supports &, yes, bridges, for others. like yesterday, i was hiking to grouse lake (absolutely gorgeous, especially b/c it’s peak wildflower season in the rockies, & steep as f%ck) & there were lots of water crossings, where the forest shepherds had thoughtfully placed logs & rocks just so to ease the crossing.
“may i become at all times, both now & forever, a protector for those without protection; a guide for those who have lost their way; a ship for those with oceans to cross; a bridge for those with rivers to cross; a sanctuary for those in danger; a lamp for those without light; a place of refuge for those who lack shelter; & a servant to all in need.”—master shantideva, in “the guide to the bodhisattva’s way of life”
it’s the seventh lunar day, the seventh phase of the waning moon, which is related to indra, who epitomizes the maxim “pride goeth before the fall” & reminds us to keep our ego, our pride, in check, to remember that we are not the doers, that grace comes, & only comes, through humility, by surrendering our sense that we are all that.
“if you keep your pride, your ego, & your self-significance down, you will become available to grace.”—sadhguru
tuesday is ruled by mars, who loves to take action & gives us the courage to do so boldly & intelligently. perhaps now, in these turbulent times, when many of us are prone to feeling helpless, we can take inspiration & hope from joan baez, who said that “action is the antidote to despair.”
& that’s your daily bliss! which is a kind of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss. may it inspire you to enlighten up a little more each day.
