it’s wednesday, july 1, & moon is in scorpio, in the starspace called vishakha. vishakha straddles libra & scorpio, carrying the residue of our libra experience into what can be the dark, turbulent waters of scorpio. make use of scorpio’s emotional courage to process any “aha’s” regarding relationships that arose while moon was in libra, to free yourself from obsessing over what-ifs & could-have-beens.
vishakha is the only asterism ruled by two deities, in this case indra & agni, lightning & fire, the king & the priest, the material & the spiritual. here, we expand our concept of relationship beyond the personal to the universal; we are not just concerned with our friends & loved ones but with all of humanity, with addressing that relationship, with asking ourselves how we can embody the energy of indra & agni, serve the world around us tangibly but with high-mindedness like a priestly king—our joy & happiness comes from making a difference, from rooting out social injustice, for example, or campaigning for a cause or candidate, for being a priestly-kingly stand like the reverend king himself, mlk.
it’s the twelfth phase of the waxing moon, which is associated with the sun. the sun purifies our vision, gives us clarity & focus, so we know where we want to go & can see our path forward. of course, all paths lead to god, but some are more scenic & fun than others, some are more direct while others are circuitous.
wednesday is mercury’s day. mercury in my chart lives in a netherworld & i am generally challenged by mundane mercury stuff, like dealing with anything $-related, technology, the virgo-esque details (b/c mercury rules virgo) of life. so i schedule those sorts of chores for wednesdays, when i can tap into mercury’s grace. today’s BIG challenge: erasing my entire backup disk, which is apparently too full, so i can start backing up my computer again. my computer whisperer has given me detailed instructions & he hasn’t led me astray in the past, but i’m still quivering a bit. wish me luck!
