it’s wednesday, july 20, & moon is in aries, in the starspace called ashwini. aries, the first sign of the natural zodiac, invites us to start anew, begin again, & vibrates with the frequency of boldly going where we haven’t gone before, of conquering new territory, of upleveling our life, of stepping more fully into our authenticity. aries says, “just be me,” “just do it,” just:

ashwini, as the first nakshatra of the first sign of the natural zodiac, gets us off to a running start—it is, after all, ruled by the ashwini kumara, the twin sons of surya & sanjana, who were born as horses (longish story!) &, fyi, became the physicians to the gods & are considered the deities of ayurveda. horses represent our creative energy & our senses, our desires. this asterism brings a lesson about reining in our senses, getting a handle on our desires, so we aren’t pulled hither & yon like horses going in opposite directions, so we can make headway in our lives, act creatively & intelligently.
it’s the eighth lunar day, the eighth phase of the waning moon, which likewise supports creative energy. let’s face it, all energy, everything we do, is creative. “shakti” means “power,” & shakti is the divine power that created & continues to create the world; it is the ability of the divine, which moves through us, to manifest & display itself in the world.
wednesday is owned by mercury, who seeks facts that will lead to truth. truth can be a little like liberation—we say we want it, but do we really? when we say we want liberation what we mostly want is liberation from our suffering, not from these bodies once & for all, right? & when we say we want truth, we usually only want the truth we can handle, the truth that won’t rock our world too much, right? the truth can make us angry when we realize we’ve been living a lie, believing lies.
