it’s monday, july 20, & we have a new moon in cancer in the starspace called pushya. cancer is the seat of our heart wisdom & of our emotional connection to others. cancer comes after gemini. in gemini we explore ideas, gather information, follow our curiosity to pursue interests. in cancer we see how all that lands, how it feels, whether it resonates truthfully, as authentically us, in our heart—we see what sticks, what is worth sticking with & giving more of our time & energy to.
in the maternal sign of cancer, pushya is the nourisher—think breasts & how they provide sustenance for babies, how mothers nurture their babies with their milk & their wisdom & their attention, how they give freely & selflessly to another. this asterism is ruled by brihaspati, the guru of the gods. gurus also provide nourishment, share their wisdom freely. &, like mothers who want their children to have better lives than they do, gurus want their children, their students, to become wiser, better teachers, than themselves. what are you nourishing yourself with? how are you nourishing others? is it producing the desired results? if not, now is the time to regroup, make changes in your diet, in whatever you are taking into your body/mind, in whatever form.
it’s the new moon, the first day of the next lunar month, so all that cancer & pushya energy is what is going to inform the next cycle. we’re going to be dropping into some serious heart energy to deepen our inner knowing & our compassion by allowing ourselves to be more emotionally vulnerable, to trust in our feeling nature, to give more unconditional love—with boundaries—to nourish ourselves & others. the interesting thing about love is that the more we give, the more we have to give, so as we give we are infused with more & more love—our well is as bottomless as mary poppins’ magic bag.
monday is the moon’s day & with saturn gazing at the moon right now, we may feel a little more sadness, a little more grief than usual for an emotionally sensitive monday.
& that’s your daily bliss! which is a kind of lunar weather report. the moon is our consciousness & i hope that by unpacking the cosmic forces influencing it every day, you’ll be better able to understand & thus lean into its ever-changing vibrations & use them to your advantage.
