it’s thursday, july 21, & moon is in aries, in the starspace called bharani. in the environment of mars-ruled aries, we have the courage to be all we can be, to make our unique mark on the world, be a stand for ourselves, to, as glennon doyle writes in “untamed,” be willing to disappoint as many people as it takes to avoid disappointing ourselves. in the environment of aries, “i” come first, “i” get to take up space, “i” get to be “me” in all “my” complexity & authenticity,
bharani means “to bear, support, maintain” & brings a lesson about how, like the process of childbearing, nothing, whether a person or a business/product or a work of art, comes into life without labor pain. mothers know this. entrepreneurs know this. artists know this. it’s just a fact of life. but hopefully the effort is worth it. if it weren’t, babies wouldn’t continue to be born, no one would try to make building materials out of mycelium, art wouldn’t be created. does what you have started to manifest feel worth the effort?
it’s the ninth lunar day, the ninth phase of the waning moon, which brings serpent energy, & we know by now—right?—that serpent energy can be both negative & positive, bring both toxicity & wisdom. our mission is to notice where we are, say, clinging to limiting beliefs & use the wisdom of the why to free ourselves from that mental/emotional prison.
thursday is owned by jupiter, who gives us faith & hope by connecting us to wisdom sources that allow us to see the big picture, our place, our role, in the cosmic dance. in japanese, this sense of awe in the face of all that is is captured by the aesthetic concept known as “yugen,” which can be translated as “a profound awareness of the universe that triggers feelings too deep & mysterious for words,” & can be experienced by simply being present to nature:
“to watch the sun sink behind a flower clad hill. to wander on in a huge forest without thought of return. to stand upon the shore and gaze after a boat that disappears behind distant islands. to contemplate the flight of wild geese seen and lost among the clouds. …”—zeami motokiyo
& that’s your daily bliss! which is a kind of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss. may it inspire you to enlighten up a little more each day.
