it’s wednesday, july 22, & moon is in the starspace called magha, which occupies the first sky-slice of leo. in cancer we connected to our inner knowing to feel into the ideas & interests truly worth pursuing, that truly resonated with us, with our authenticity. in leo the love we feel for that idea or that interest becomes a creative passion—the power of our love expands our perception of who we are, allows us to tap into our ultimate potential, our sublime essence, our unique identity.
magha means “beneficent” or “mighty.” magha is the king (or queen) sitting on the throne. this is where we feel power over our dominion, whether it’s a whole country or our own small parcel of it. with power comes responsibility, which in its highest expression (& we do want to go high, right?) is sourced in love. when we rule our life, our world, from a place of love, we make decisions, take actions, that benefit not just us but the world around us—remember, magha means beneficent. acting in ways that expand love rather than our ego, rather than our love of power, brings more peace to both ourselves & to the world. more peace brings more connection; more connection brings more peace; & so it goes.
it’s the third phase of the waxing moon, which invites us to be flexible, make adjustments, think outside the box. hey, if beating peaceful people up & dousing them with pepper spray & abducting them into unmarked cars doesn’t work, makes them only more determined to protest, maybe it’s time to try something else, maybe it’s time to back down, go high instead of low low low low low?
