it’s friday, july 22, & moon moves from aries into taurus just before noon mountain time while being supported & transported by the starspace called krittika. this is a shift from the fiery masculine into the earthy feminine, from doing to being, to a timeout to enjoy the fruits of all we’ve done, of all we’ve created, to enjoy the delights of our earthly existence. so get ‘er done this morning & enjoy this afternoon & evening, b/c both taurus & friday are ruled by venus, who loves all things sensual & loves sharing those pleasures with others. it’s a double-good day to, say, have dinner on the patio or deck or in the park with some special people in your life—or to cozy up by yourself with your art supplies or a good book & some chocolate.
krittika, ruled by agni, the god of fire, brings a lesson about the power of our intellect to illuminate & digest, identify & burn, offer into the sacrificial fire whatever doesn’t serve us. note that the english word “critical” is surely cognate to “krittika”—we get to put our critical-thinking hats on today.
it’s the tenth lunar day, the tenth phase of the waning moon, which is connected to dharma, to acting in right alignment with our purpose for being here. we don’t all have grand purposes, but all of us influence those around us through our actions & we never know what repercussions our actions may have. like the proverbial butterfly’s wingbeat that foments atmospheric events thousands of miles away, the smile you bestow on a stranger may repercuss (who knew that was a verb?!) into a billionaire finally paying their workers decent wages—who knows?
