it’s thursday, july 23, & moon is in the starspace called purvaphalguni, which is in leo. leo is ruled by the sun, who is our inner light, who gives us our super power of individuality. there is only one of each of us & the world needs each of us to radiate with max wattage. leo says to toss that dimmer switch (but def recycle it if you can)!
purvaphalguni is ruled by the deity bhaga, the god of delight. my ascendant is in this asterism & the first time i had a vedic astrology reading the jyotishi told me it meant i was the cat in a hammock, which implied laziness & i took as a personal affront, b/c calling myself lazy is one of my wounded beliefs (sorry if that’s tmi!). but bhaga just wants us to enjoy our hard work, wants us to rest on our laurels, briefly, not forever. “work hard, play hard” might be his mantra. or “work, then play, so we feel refreshed enough to work some more.” got it?
it’s the fourth phase of the waxing moon, so we may be feeling a sense of restraint, as if we’re trying to paint with our hands tied behind our backs. we need to just breathe & do what we can—if we resist, if we struggle, it will only make matters worse, will only tighten the ropes.
thursday is ruled by jupiter. jupiter is our inner guru, our ability to connect to our own guidance, which we develop by being receptive to the teachings & teachers around us. everyone & everything provides an opportunity for growth, an opportunity to reflect on who we are & who we want to be, are meant to be, an opportunity to reflect ourselves back to us. as pema chodron says, “if we learn to open our hearts, anyone, including the people who drive us crazy, can be our teachers.” & i would add, ESPECIALLY the people who drive us crazy, b/c they present the biggest challenge, & thus the potential for the biggest payoff.
& that’s your daily bliss! which is a kind of lunar weather report. the moon is our consciousness & i hope that by unpacking the cosmic forces influencing it every day, you’ll be better able to understand & thus lean into its ever-changing vibrations & use them to your advantage.
