it’s monday, july 24, & moon is in virgo, moving from the starspace called hasta into chitra late morning mountain time. virgo vibrates with the frequency of perfection, of bringing more perfection to our lives, any & all aspects of it—our body, our home. this desire to improve, to making things better, is what can make some of us such great healers. but/& it can also narrow our vision to see only what’s wrong, including things that really aren’t. or, as badass mr. money mustache put it in his latest newsletter, “when our lives are virtually problem free, instead of appreciating our good fortune we just start making up shit that we can complain about instead.” he points out that humans have a “scientific tendency … to always scan our environment for problems, regardless of how safe and perfect that environment is.” this weakness is the core of MMM’s work & he shared how it was articulately elucidated by michael easter in a youtube vid & book,” the comfort crisis.”
while we are wired to see trouble where it probably ain’t, we are also wired to respond “instantly and powerfully to everything natural, in ways that you can’t get anywhere else.” in fact, “even placing a single plant into a hospital room will measurably improve the recovery of almost all patients from almost all ailments,” including the illness of complaining.
soooo, get out in nature & heal thyself today!
hasta means “hands” & brings a lesson about manifesting with our hands but knowing that we aren’t actually the manifesters. hands are also, literally & metaphorically, vehicles for healing. chitra means “brilliant” & brings a lesson about our potential to manifest brilliant objects that are both useful & beautiful, things so utterly aesthetically & practically perfect that marie kondo herself would insist on their forever presence in our lives.
it’s the seventh lunar day, the seventh phase of the waxing moon, so, yeah, lose the ego, lose the “it’s all about me & the teensy imperfections of my life,” get with some humility, some perspective.
monday is ruled by the moon, who is our feeling, intuitive nature, our heart-knowing. what better way to start the week (ok, sunday is the first official day of the week, but … ) than to feel into your truth & set some intentions, craft your to-do or to-be list, from there?
& that’s your daily bliss! which is a sort of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss.
