it’s tuesday, july 25, & moon is in libra, in the starspace called chitra until midday, then vishakha. libra vibrates with the frequency of relationships—our favorite topic!—& libra’s ruler, venus, is now in retrograde motion. when planets are retrograde, they are at the closest point in their orbit to the earth, which means that whatever signification they hold feels very up close & personal to us. in the case of venus, that means relationships. we are invited to do some deep inquiry into what went wrong with one or more & make amends—with ourselves so we can move on & do better the next time around or with others if we feel called to do so. we get to remember that relationships are a two-way street, that it takes two to tango or, um, tangle—we may have made mistakes but they were made within a dynamic that allowed them to be made. may we have compassion for ourselves on our journey!
chitra (see yesterday’s post for more) is ruled by tvashtar, the cosmic architect, perhaps the ur-artisan, who could imagine what he wanted to create & make it so seemingly out of thin air, from his brain power. vishakha is ruled by both indra & agni, the king & the priest, by the material & the ethereal, the practical & the spiritual. the lesson this morning is that if we dream it hard enough it will come; this afternoon that we don’t have to choose between, say, earning & soul-evolving, that they are dependent on each other—if we can’t keep a roof over our head, how the heck are we supposed to have enough equanimity to sit on our meditation cushion?
it’s the eighth lunar day, the eighth phase of the waxing moon, which supports us in creating from the three gunas & five elements, the foundational principles of all creation. sometimes the recipe needs tweaking so we can manifest what we mean to. like, truth be told, there’s been too much earth & tamas in my life, stuckness, lethargy. maybe it’s the heat, maybe it’s the fact that there are new kittens in the house & they work the overnight shift hard—yawn! what is there too much or not enough of to support your creative endeavors?
tuesday is ruled by mars, our inner action hero, who is now fired up in fiery leo & chomping at the bit to act. how can you use that energy to be a warrior for your relationships?
& that’s your daily bliss! which is a sort of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss.
