it’s friday, july 26, & moon is in the starspace called krittika, moving from passionate, action-oriented aries this morning into the earthy contentment of taurus’s realm this afternoon.
krit means “to cut” or “divide” & tika means “to challenge.” the symbol of this asterism is a razor & it is ruled by agni, the fire god. krittika is fierce & destructive; it gives us the ability to be fearless in the face of challenges, to cut through opposition, to cut away, let go of, what isn’t essential. krittika brings the aspiration for radical change.
change is usually not comfortable. if we are the agents of it, it usually entails fierceness on our part, tough love. pema chodron talks about being comfortable with the uncomfortable, but most of us would love to avoid what’s uncomfortable, no? but how much could we transform, how much radical change could we facilitate, if we actually embraced being uncomfortable, if we called it in every day?
“they” say that if we’re not uncomfortable we’re not growing, if we’re not growing we’re dying. but someone recently said, if we’re not uncomfortable every day we’re not playing big enough. how big do you want to play? how much do you not want to stagnate? how much do you want to keep growing growing growing, evolving evolving evolving? get out that razor, channel agni’s fire, be fearless!
it’s the tenth phase of the waning moon, which allows us to handle pressure & is related to truthful actions that align us with our soul’s purpose. perfect!
& that’s your daily bliss—friday’s planetary ruler is venus, who invites us to enjoy, to be in joy, to do the things that bring us pleasure. ultimately, we discover that joy comes from within, that it does not rely on external sources, like an awesome meal or great sex, that pleasure is fleeting while joy is eternal, but feeling the sparks of pleasure is a great good starting point! & we just may need a little pleasure break from all our diligent soul work today!
