it’s thursday, july 27, & moon is in scorpio, in the starspace called vishakha till early afternoon, then anuradha. scorpio vibrates with the frequency of our irrational fears, the paranoia & self-doubt that can rise to the surface after vulnerably expressing our needs in the relationship realm of libra. scorpio is shadowland, it is where we fear to tread. but one person who was fearless in that realm was sinéad o’connor, who, as you all know by now, passed, crossed over, yesterday. interestingly, she appears to have been not only a scorpio rising but had sun, mercury & venus in scorpio as well. i say “appears” b/c her birth time isn’t a for sure. but going with it shows that her career/dharma (sun) was inspired by revealing what’s hidden & she had the ability to speak that truth & share it with the world at large (mercury) & do so musically with a high aesthetic value (venus). whaddya think?

anuradha (oi, i’ve talked soooo much about vishakha the past two days—please see previous posts!) is the star of devotion & that’s the asterism that was rising on the eastern horizon when sinéad was born, that’s where her ascendant was. this asterism reminds us of radha’s devotion to krishna, of the path of true devotion to god. the title of sinead’s stunning debut album (i’m listening to it as i write), “the lion & the cobra,” refers to psalm 91:13, a reminder that god, the divine, is our ultimate comfort & protection.

it’s the tenth lunar day, the tenth phase of the waxing moon, which is—hey, ya can’t make this up—related to dharma. dharma means following our highest calling regardless of the fallout. just as, yes, sinéad did by speaking out, singing out, passionately & vehemently & eloquently, by shining the klieg light of truth on the dark face of power, even if it offended fans, like, famously, when she ripped up a photo of the pope on SNL to call out the pervasive sexual abuse practically sanctioned by the catholic church.

thursday is ruled by jupiter, who connects us to greater wisdom, the ability to see the big picture, which frees us from the culture of fear, the web of our paranoid self-deception, irrational emotions. & my final word on sinéad, may she rest in peace at long last: her jupiter was effing exalted—just saying!

& that’s your daily bliss! which is a sort of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss.
