it’s friday, july 29, & moon is in cancer, in the starspace called ashlesha. cancer is the fourth sign of the natural zodiac & is represented by a crab. it is where we do or do not feel at home, emotionally & physically, where we do or do not feel at peace in our heart. crabs have hard shells to protect their soft hearts. under the sway of cancer’s unconditionally loving energy, we can give until we drop, until we are not at peace, b/c it’s easy to forget about our own needs, which, yes, we get to have. cancer loves to stay connected to others, but sometimes alone time, self-love time, is what’s needed rather than the drama & chaos of other people’s lives. sometimes we need to do the sideways crab walk away from those we love. b/c it’s what’s loving for us, & what’s loving for us is always loving for others. really!
ashlesha, which means “the entwiner,” brings a lesson about who & what we are entwined with, who & what we are clinging to, & invites us to ask whether those people-ideas-activities-emotions are lifting us up or bringing us down. clue: do they make you feel contracted or expansive, small or big, less or more fully who you be or want to be?
it’s the first lunar day, the first phase of the waxing moon, so we may still be feeling into what it is we want to create, grow, manifest as this lunar month unfolds or be taking the first steps toward embodying our intention, which, given the new moon in cancer, in the starspace called pushya, the star of nourishment (see yesterday’s post for more), would entail nourishing ourselves in whatever way feeds our fullest flowering so we can nourish others.
friday is infused with the energy of venus, planet of love & relationships. ya know what they say: we can love & receive love from others only to the extent that we love ourselves. we attract people who are vibrating at the same frequency we are. if we want to attract higher-vibration people, whether for romantic or platonic relationships, then we get to raise our own vibration. or, as don miguel ruiz says, “you are the love of your life.” which doesn’t mean we are all we need, but that love starts with “me.”
