it’s friday, july 31, & moon has jumped across the gandanta, the starless abyss, between scorpio & sagittarius, & is now in the starspace called mula, which occupies the first sky-slice of sag. under the influence of scorpio we faced our fears & now, under the influence of sagittarius, we are inspired to seek the truth, to transform our fears into insights that allow us to create, or reconnect to, a belief system that resonates with our essential beingness, our essential purpose on this planet, in this incarnation.
mula means “root” & is ruled by niritti, an especially fierce form of kali—as if kali isn’t fierce enough?! niritti, like kali, evokes fear b/c of her destructive nature, but, as we know, destruction—unless you are looting & pillaging just b/c you can—is not necessarily bad. kali destroys our ignorance & self-limiting beliefs, represented by the garland of skulls draped around her neck, & that’s good. in mula, we upROOT, yank out, we weed our interior garden. kali takes no prisoners & neither should we. kali likes it messy, so get with the purging today—you can do the cleanup tomorrow. what thoughts are keeping you small? what notions about who you are & can be just aren’t true? yank ’em out!
it’s the thirteenth phase of the waxing moon starting late late morning (you can read about the twelfth phase in yesterday’s post if you want)—& how lovely that it lands in time for (zoom) date night, b/c it is, like venus, all about desire & happiness. be with the ones you love, socially distanced or virtually, if you can later or just love on yourself.
venus rules friday & loves love & all things that bring happiness, which is not the same thing as joy, but that’s another discussion. venus is moving into gemini later this afternoon & will be there through the end of august. the next month can be good for creativity of all sorts (venus likes art & writing & mercury, gemini’s ruler, loves to write).
& that’s your daily bliss! which is a kind of lunar weather report. the moon is our consciousness & i hope that by unpacking the cosmic forces influencing it every day, you’ll be better able to understand & thus lean into its ever-changing vibrations & use them to your advantage.
