it’s monday, july 31, & moon is moving from sagittarius into capricorn just after noon mountain time, while being supported & transported by the starspace called uttarashadha. whereas sagittarius vibrates with the frequency of hopefulness & abundance & the zoom-out picture, capricorn vibrates with the frequency of practicality & lack & the zoom-in picture. sagittarius inspires, capricorn puts our nose to the grindstone. moon was in sag all weekend—are you full to bursting with the good fortune of your life, with the grace of lightbulb moments? are you ready to use that full tank of benevolence to take some positive action steps & get real about your life? as i swear flaubert said (but the google won’t verify!), genius (i.e., inspiration) doesn’t happen unless you’re sitting at your desk—the one supports the other, brings the other to fruition.
uttarashadha means “later victory” & is ruled by the vishwadevas, the universal forces—like time, desire & action—that have the power to fulfill our hopes & prayers … if we align with them. this asterism reminds us of the vastness of the resources at our disposal & that it is up to us to tap into them, use them. we get to remember that prayer without action is like trying to cross a river, reach our destination, using one oar on one side of our canoe. you know how that works out!
it’s the fourteenth lunar day, the fourteenth phase of the waxing moon, which means tomorrow is the last phase of this cycle, which brings a full moon & the beginning of a new lunar cycle. the waxing cycle started with a new moon in cancer, so we’ve been unconditionally loving on our people, maybe too much so, maybe overgiving, & we’re gonna get to start recalibrating with the full moon in capricorn, strengthen our boundaries, the demarcation line between “me” & “thee.” have you been feeling that “thee” energy building? are you full to bursting? or is it just me?! this tithi (lunar phase) is related to goddess kali, who destroys our illusions, like, for example, that being there for others means we have to give up being there for ourselves. how much of that delusion can you release today?
monday is ruled by the moon, which gives us our superpower of intuition, of feeling, of heart-knowing & -connection. it’s a good day to heart-connect with others today.
