it’s wednesday, july 5, & moon is in capricorn, in the starspace called shravana. capricorn is ruled by stern, serious saturn, the keeper of time, who never stops reminding us to make hay while the sun shines, get ‘er done, & who gives us the discipline & perseverance to do so.
shravana brings a lesson about deep listening, which is only possible when we can get still, allow the silence, sit & stay on our cushion, be fully present. silence allows us to unite our heart & mind, commune with our gorgeous, divine essence, the beauty of all that is.
“beauty can only be understood, lived, known, when there is total silence. you cannot see the beauty of the mountain and the clear blue sky when the mind is chattering endlessly, when the mind is occupied with problems. it can see that beauty only in total silence,” wrote krishnamurti. “to understand what beauty is, to have that sense of goodness which comes when the mind & heart are in communion with something lovely without any hindrance so that one feels completely at ease—surely, this has great significance in life; & until we know this response to beauty our lives will be very shallow.”
it’s the third lunar day, the third phase of the waning moon, which supports us in being flexible, not being attached to our plan, to how we expect our day to roll, to not rail when things unfold imperfectly but to accommodate what is, be shape-shifters if need be.
wednesday is ruled by the always-communicative mercury, who loves loves loves the first amendment, which guarantees our freedom to think, speak & share our thoughts more broadly than among a circle of intimates (which is what the press does); it also gives us the freedom to congregate (ya know, protest, another way of sharing our thoughts broadly, if we so desire) & to bring our concerns to the government (as in, challenging it, suing it if we feel it has infringed on our rights—any of them) & to not be punished for doing so (for example, have our bank accounts frozen à la china for “misbehaving”). sounds like james madison, who was largely responsible for the bill of rights, had some great, good ideas, ideas worth protecting, right?!
& that’s your daily bliss! which is a sort of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss.
