it’s friday, july 9, & moon is in gemini, in the starspace called ardra this morning, but it is “new” in the starspace called punarvasu a wee bit later today. gemini invites to ask questions so we can own & speak our truth, which means being able to embrace not-knowing, which means we get to be humble & curious.
after the emotional release of ardra (see yesterday’s post for more), we feel, well, humbled, ready to receive love & nourishment, to be cuddled & rocked like a baby in the arms of the divine mother. punarvasu is ruled by aditi, which means “boundless.” as in limitless, as in the infinity of space, of possibility. aditi’s womb is the womb of all creation, she is the universal mother, the mother of all the gods. yes, there is some circularity here (um, if aditi created all the gods, who created aditi? best not to go down that rabbit hole & just trust!) & punarvasu does mean “the return of the light,” reminding us that our life is circular, cyclical: we continually roll through periods of darkness & light, but light is always there to give us a glimpse of hope, of insight, guide us on our way, afterward. so we can begin again.
the divine mother is all-embracing compassion, love & kindness. she holds us in the space of love so we can learn from our hardships—which is, alas, what they are there for—& realign with our truth.
it’s the fifteenth lunar day, which yields the new moon, the union of sun & moon, masculine & feminine energy, & when those two energies get together, something else, something new—a new part of ourself—is born.
