it’s friday, june 12, & moon is in the starspace called purvabhadra. purvabhadra straddles aquarius & pisces, but moon won’t be in the pisces portion until the wee wee wee hours of tomorrow morning. so we’re still heeding that aquarian call to serve humanity, somehow in some way. this year, in a humongous offering of service, the hanuman festival is online. for the next three days you can fill your well with all kinds of practices, meditations, talks & music. for free!!! really!!! jai shri hanuman!
the essence of purvabhadra is the lightning strike of inspiration, that “aha!” moment, when we get a hit of something bigger than ourselves, beyond our material existence. ideally, that’s a connection to the divine, to our divine nature, but not necessarily. religious fanatics & authoritarian rulers get a hit of inspiration somewhere along the way. as with everything else, there’s a spectrum, from the least intelligent, least evolved, to the most—charles manson to albert einstein.
it’s the seventh lunar day until late morning, which is associated with lord indra (see yesterday’s post for more), then the eighth, which is associated with the eight vasus, who are the building blocks of life. it’s a good day to build something, to create something, based on the building blocks of your life, on what you value, on what makes you feel abundant.
it’s friday, which means venus rules, which means it’s time to party! well, not so fast! maybe a cocktail or mocktail or quarantini on your own patio or deck with spacious seating & just a few carefully curated friends? i know people are chomping at the bit to get out & are & we can’t stay cooped up forever, & it is a good idea to support our local businesses, like restaurants, who have been hit really hard, but let’s all keep our risks to a minimum & not overdo it, yes?
that’s your daily bliss! which is a kind of lunar weather report. the moon is our consciousness & i hope that by unpacking the cosmic forces influencing it every day, you’ll be better able to understand & thus lean into its ever-changing vibrations & use them to your advantage.
