it’s thursday, june 17, & moon moves from leo to virgo midafternoon & from the starspace purvaphalguni to uttaraphalguni this morning. the sun, which rules leo, gives us a vision for the world we want to see & create; mercury, which rules virgo, reminds us that the devil is in the details, that in order to fulfill our big picture vision, we have to pay attention to the minutiae.
our lives are like seurat paintings, composed of an infinitude of tiny dots of color. under the sway of virgo we get to pay attention to the tiny dots in our life, which seem insignificant by themselves but add up to, well, our life! time to dot our i’s & cross our t’s, aka balance checkbooks, clean out closets, weed gardens, shop for groceries, etc., etc., etc.
uttaraphalguni (see yesterday’s post for the lowdown on purvaphalguni) is ruled by the deity aryaman, who is said to be the divine matchmaker & is why this is considered the star of marriage. marriage entails a contract, & this asterism thus supports all contracts that bind people in a way that is mutually beneficial, & ideally joyful & fruitful.
it’s the seventh lunar day, the seventh phase of the waxing moon, which is ruled by lord indra, who wasn’t always mindful of the fact that good kings (as i’ve been mentioning the past couple of days) rule with a sense of noblesse oblige, “the inferred responsibility of privileged people to act with generosity and nobility toward those less privileged,” aka their subjects, but often wielded his power through his ego center rather than his heart center. indra gives us the lesson to always check in with our hearts so we don’t wield our power capriciously or selfishly.
thursday is owned by jupiter, who is slowing down to a near standstill before he goes retrograde next week. which makes the coming week potent with jupiterian juju, but especially today & next thursday, b/c thursday is his day! do take advantage of this opportunity to receive the abundance & good fortune & wisdom that is available to you by tapping into this planetary energy. who or what inspires you to greatness?
