it’s friday, june 18, & moon is in virgo, in the starspace called hasta. virgo vibrates with the frequency of protection & perfection, of assessing potential danger & being proactive to avoid it, circumvent it, or, if need be, eliminating it. virgo gives us protocols & routines to keep us safe & healthy. ya know those apps that let you log everything you eat & every minute of exercise you do & calculate whether you’re taking in more calories than you’re expending? you can surely thank virgos for those!
hasta means “hand” & is ruled by savitur, the sun, who wakes us up every day & inspires us to use our hands, to manifest, to create—& also, & importantly, to know that we are but vessels for creation, that it is spirit/god/the divine that is the doer. chanting the gayatri mantra, which is connected to savitur, is a great way to give it up to god, ask, “god, what would you have me do, how would you use me?”

tat savitur varenyam
bhargo devasya dhimahi
dhiyo yo nah prachodayat
the eternal, earth, air, heaven
that glory, that resplendence of the sun
may we contemplate the brilliance of that light
may the sun inspire our minds

it’s the eighth lunar day, the eighth phase of the waxing moon, which—how perfect!—invites us to concoct the perfect recipe out of the five elements & three gunas to manifest our whatever today. cup o’ earth, teaspoon o’ ether, pinch o’ tamas, anyone?
friday is owned by venus, who is our pleasure principle, the part of us that IN-joys the gifts of our embodied existence, the pleasure we receive through our five senses—takes in delights through our eyes, ears, mouth, skin, nose. with everything in bloom right now—the peonies! the jasmine! the lavender! oh, my!—we can’t help but inhale the exquisite perfume of nature, be dazzled by its visual splendor. friday is a great day to open to pleasure every & any way we can experience it—& if we can do so with another, or if another can be the source of that experience, that’s an awesome option b/c venus loves people (& animals).
& that’s your daily bliss! which is a kind of lunar weather report. it is my hope that the daily bliss can help you align with the day’s cosmic energy & find a little more bliss; that it inspires you to enlighten up a little more each day.
