it’s tuesday, june 18, & moon is in the starspace of sagittarius called purva ashadha. sagittarius is where we find higher meaning & purpose, where we dig down into the beliefs that uplift us, that ring true.
purva ashadha means “that which cannot be subdued” & it is here that, after making room yesterday with all of our uprooting, all of our weeding, we plant the seeds of new possibility, we own more of who we really are; it is where hidden knowledge may be revealed. do you know who you really are? do you see what others see? do you own your gifts? what is it in you that must be expressed, cannot be subdued?
the epic ramayana tells the tales of rama, who came to earth as an avatar of visnu, in the form of a human prince, to save the world from demon forces. the devas (gods) knew who he was, his father eventually got it, but rama himself was pretty much clueless, except on rare occasions when he performed some super-human deed, but that flash of “hmmm, maybe i’m more than i think i am” faded as quickly as it flashed across the screen of his consciousness. even when he picked up a bow so massive that it took a hundred he men to pull it on an eight-wheeled cart, even when he accidentally broke that bow like a child’s toy when stringing it b/c he was so strong, he didn’t realize he was a god. if he had, says ramesh menon in his translation, “he would not have suffered as he did during his life, as every mortal man must.”
sometimes we don’t see our true nature unless it’s reflected back to us by someone else, we don’t value own gifts, we don’t see or acknowledge our own uniqueness. & so we suffer. how do other people reflect you to you? can you catch a glimpse of the truth of your being in that reflection & plant it like a seed for your transformation today?
it’s the second phase of the waning moon, which interestingly has to do with krishna, another avatar of visnu (altho some traditions think it’s the other way round, that all the avatars descended from krishna). in any event, this phase has to do with the creativity that comes from connection to the divine.
& that’s your daily bliss—tuesday is ruled my mars, so use your fierceness to connect to your inner spiritual warrior, not to get into useless battles.
