it’s monday, june 19, & moon is in gemini, in the starspace called ardra as i write, moving into the starspace called punarvasu probably by the time you read this. gemini, where moon was all weekend, vibrates with the frequency of curiosity & sociability & communication—how did that energy show up over the weekend in your life? gemini is ruled by mercury, who loves to gather & ponder intel & share what he finds & ponders with others. since it’s juneteenth, which celebrates the day in 1865 that african americans in texas were officially emancipated, he is pondering the topic of freedom. he hasn’t come to any conclusions yet, but he does know that saying so doesn’t necessarily make it so & that no one is free until everyone is free & that we’ve still got a ways to go on that count. & he does know that, as janis belted, “freedom’s just another word for nothin’ left to lose” & “nothin’, don’t mean nothin’, honey, if it ain’t free.” may everyone everywhere truly be free AF!

ardra, where moon was all day yesterday, is ruled by rudra, the stormy, thundery aspect of shiva. this asterism gives us the power to, well, power through our struggles so we can achieve our goals. i think it’s safe to say that our struggles are often emotional, are inner storms, which is why ardra is often represented by a teardrop. punarvasu is ruled by aditi, the goddess of abundance, of ur maternal/feminine energy (shakti!), & invites us to dry our tears, to feel safe & nourished by the infinite possibility that the goddess, who encompasses all, is & brings. while rudra is the hunter with a bow, punarvasu is often represented by a quiver full of arrows. these are not ordinary arrows, but astras, divine weapons that always return to the bearer after use. from which we can infer that our resources are ever-renewing, that we can’t use them up, that we contain the means to reach our goals if we can just get over ourselves & if our aim is true.

it’s the second lunar day, the second phase of the waxing moon, which supports creativity. what was your new moon intention? what did you want to manifest/create in the waxing cycle? how’s that going?

monday is owned by the moon, who invites us to imagine that we are all, like aspen trees, one magnificent organism, rooted together. b/c, um, we are!

& that’s your daily bliss! which is a sort of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss.
