it’s wednesday, june 1, & moon is in gemini, in the starspace called ardra. mercury-ruled gemini vibrates with the frequency of intellectual & creative curiosity, of wanting to explore new realms & share our discoveries with others, for mercury loves to talk & can be very social. mercury is also a fun guy—if it’s not fun, he’s not going to do it, it won’t keep his interest, he’ll just drop the ball he’s playing with & pick up another one. mercury says, why do anything if it doesn’t bring you joy, if it doesn’t light you up?
ardra is ruled by rudra, the god of storms, whose name means “the howler.” this asterism brings a lesson about the nature of storms, whose destructive energy can be frightening but also clears & cleanses—the air is always fresher after a storm, the sun always comes out, the grass always looks greener. we are invited to weather whatever internal storm may be raging, knowing that its purpose is purification, that we will shine brighter as a result. &, hey, we get to howl if need be—screaming into a pillow can be most cathartic!
it’s the second lunar day, the second phase of the waxing moon, which is related to lord krishna/vishnu in the form of narayana, who, according to the bhagavata purana (& wiki) is the supreme personality of godhead & creator of the fourteen worlds within the universe of brahma. that’s a lot of creation! it’s a good day for acts of creativity in our own little worlds, especially if that creativity sustains & makes our worlds a little more comfortable.
wednesday is owned by mercury, planet of communication & technology & travel & discriminating intelligence. merc is in retrograde until friday & conjunct a difficult star until next wednesday, so we def want to double-down & double-check all things mercury, especially speech: mind what we say & how we say it & to whom we are saying it to prevent being misunderstood, our words misinterpreted. sometimes keeping mum is the most intelligent course of action. as angelic celestial colours, one of my fave light workers has said, “if you can’t control your tongue, you can’t control your life.” thoughts become words become actions, which have consequences: nipping our thoughts in the bud before they become words gives us control over unwanted consequences.
