June 22nd’s dollop of dharma courtesy of the moon!

it’s monday, june 22, & moon is in the starspace called punarvasu, which straddles gemini & cancer. most of punarvasu is in gemini & we’ll be spending most of our day under the sway of that sign’s energy, using our precious mental faculties to pursue new interests that feed us intellectually or creatively, to unpack ideas, to spread the word to others. in the evening, we’ll begin to shift into cancer’s realm, feel into whether our interests & ideas are in alignment with our heart, feel at home in us.

punarvasu is ruled by the deity aditi. aditi is the feminine principle of creativity, shakti, the mother of all & as such all. everything is shakti, the creative principle. according to the rig veda aditi is the sky, the air, all the gods, mother, father, son, whatever is born.

twameva mata cha pita twameva
twameva bandush cha sakha twameva
twameva vidya dravinam twameva
twameva sarvam mama deva deva

translation: oh god, you are my mother, father, relative, friend, knowledge, wealth. you are my everything.

it is said that we have been everyone’s mother. what kind of mothers have we been, do we continue to be? do we love some children more than others? do we judge our children or do we love them all equally & unconditionally?

it’s the second phase of the waxing moon, which is associated with divine creation, with tapping into our divine powers of creation, connecting to the source of creation within us to manifest a thing of beauty that represents the unconditional truth of our authenticity.

monday is the moon’s day, which can bring grief or other intense emotions. remember: no pain, no gain. the more we can feel, the more vulnerable we allow ourselves to be, the more open our hearts become. the more open our hearts become, the closer to god we are.

& that’s your daily bliss! which is a kind of lunar weather report. the moon is our consciousness & i hope that by unpacking the cosmic forces influencing it every day, you’ll be better able to understand & thus lean into its ever-changing vibrations & use them to your advantage.
