it’s thursday, june 25, & moon is in leo, in the starspace called magha. leo is ruled by the sun, which is our inner & outer light. just as the sun is the center of our solar system & illuminates everything around it, so we are the centers of our own micro solar systems & illuminate everything around us. the light of the planets is a reflection of the sun’s light. how do the people in your life reflect your light back to you? how do the people in your life shine as a result of you? how do you share your light?
magha is associated with the ancestors, all those who came before us & whose shoulders we stand on, who bushwhacked & blazed the trail for us, sacrificed, intentionally or not, so that we could be who we are today. one way to honor them is to keep them alive in our heart, notice how they still inform our life. we can offer up our prayers daily to our ancestors, keep pictures of them in sight, use their things, take on their rituals. my mother religiously went through her mail every day, religiously ripped to shreds her name & address from it before putting it in the recycling bin. having spent time taking care of my mom’s mail for her just the way she liked it when i was in l.a., even tho i thought it excessive & paranoid, i now find myself ripping to shreds any identifying information before i toss my own mail. in this way my mother is always alive to me, in me.
it’s the fifth phase of the waxing moon, which makes it a good day for creativity & healing routines. how are those connected? you tell me!
thursday is jupiter’s day. jupiter is our connection to something larger than ourselves, something that gives us hope, gives our life meaning, provides a map. if you find yourself in uncharted waters or on uncharted land, maybe you should pull that map out of your pocket & have a good reconnoiter.
& that’s your daily bliss! which is a kind of lunar weather report. the moon is our consciousness & i hope that by unpacking the cosmic forces influencing it every day, you’ll be better able to understand & thus lean into its ever-changing vibrations & use them to your advantage.
