this starspace is ruled by the deity pushan, who is one of the adityas, or forms of the sun. he is sometimes described as driving the sun in its course across the sky & is thus connected to the solstices, governing the death & rebirth of the sun, the shortening & lengthening of the days. & of course that translates to the diminishment & expansion of our own inner light: there is a sense of pause here, like that moment before dawn, before the sun rises & day begins again, before we rise & begin again, become new again.
pushan was a “psychopomp,” a soul guide, the one who conducted souls to the other world. he also protected travelers from bandits and wild beasts and people from being exploited by other people. his shakti is to lead us toward rich pastures and wealth, whatever that means to us. his gifts bless us in this world & into the next. can you receive them?
May the Long Time Sun
Shine upon you
All love surround you
And the pure light
within you
Guide your way on
Guide your way on
—Snatam Kaur, “Long Time Sun”
this one’s for all you yoga & ayurveda geeks: Did you know that there’s actually a pushan mudra? this mudra is said to help us assimilate and process anxieties that may arise in new phases of life, digest them, just as the deity pushan does. check it out & let me know how it works for you.
it’s the ninth phase of the waning moon, which has to do with serpent energy. this can be a very transformative day as long as you don’t get bit! if you do, see if you can turn that toxin around, into medicine for your soul.
& that’s your daily bliss—wednesday is mercury’s day, so why not see if you, too, can come up with an awesome new word to add to your vocabulary?
p.s. jyotish, vedic astrology, is the science of light. if you want to shine more light on your life, understand why you are here & how the planets are guiding you on your way on, i’d love to enlighten you—contact me! ~.~
