it’s monday, june 27, & moon is in taurus, in the starspace called mrigashira. taurus is moon’s most happy place—moon’s watery nature feels grounded, held, by the earthy stability of taurus, its tendency toward inconsistency, toward just going with the flow contained, boundaried in a good way. taurus vibrates with the frequency of our comfort zone, our cozy zone; it’s where we stop to smell the roses of our life, appreciate all the goodness, all the goodies, of our material existence. it’s where we feel happy. our ultimate goal is to feel happy for no reason, but the path toward that goal begins with the conditional happiness we experience in taurus, which comes from what we consume with our senses—friends & lovers & children, chocolate & kale, movies & books, walking barefoot in the grass or swimming in the ocean or climbing mountains. what makes you happy? can you feel that feeling without the external thing?
mrigashira is the wandering deer & is ruled by the deity soma. soma is that elusive elixir of immortality indulged in by the gods & that mere mortals have been searching for forever. the bhagavad gita tells us that we, our true selves, are immortal, that we are never born & thus can never die. that nectar, that knowledge, is contained within us, yet we search hither & yon ad infinitum. this asterism brings the lesson that if we keep looking “out there,” in the external, we’ll never find what we’re looking for. which is the bliss state of immortality—happiness for no reason.
it’s the fourteenth lunar day, the fourteenth phase of the waning moon, which invites us to prepare for the new moon tomorrow night in gemini, which is going to be powerful, by releasing resistance to getting the facts & uncovering the truth about our beliefs. more tomorrow!
monday is ruled by the moon, who is a uniter not a divider, who is the ur-connector, the anti-polarizer. moon is the part of us that believes we have more in common than not. for example, a recent pew study showed that “a majority of americans say abortion should be legal in all or most cases, but are open to restrictions” & that “many opponents of legal abortion say it should be legal in some circumstances.” see what i mean?
& that’s your daily bliss! which is a kind of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss. may it inspire you to enlighten up a little more each day.
