ashwini refers to the ashwin kumara, twin sons of Surya, the sun, who are the harbingers of the dawn—they are the link between darkness & light, mystery & inspiration, our past karma & potential for rebirth each day. they are forces of prana, of life force, which is what enlivens us, allows us to initiate new activity, to feel rejuvenated.
did i mention that the ashwins are horses? that story will have to wait for another time, but just know that horses are symbols of vitality & manifestation—& the seven horses that pull the sun’s chariot across the sky (how did you think it gets to you each morning?) also refer to prana, to the life force that energizes us. it is here, in the first nakshatra of the first constellation in the zodiac, that creation on all levels is aroused. anything is possible & it is said that whatever you begin today will bring quick results—so take advantage of that if you can!
the ashwins, who are the doctors of the gods, are miracle workers, who can bring about fast & radical cures: got something that ails you? you can cure yourself by tapping into this energy.
it’s the tenth phase of the waning moon, which is connected to a sense of responsibility & doing the right thing.
& that’s your daily bliss—thursday is ruled by jupiter, who is the guru, the teacher, the container of our highest principles, who helps us align with our dharma so we can do the right thing.
p.s. jyotish, vedic astrology, is the science of light. if you want to shine more light on your life, understand why you are here & how the planets are guiding you on your path, i’d love to enlighten you with a session—contact me! ~.~
