it’s monday, june 28, & the moon is in aquarius, in the starspace called dhanishtha. aquarius vibrates with the frequency of humanitarianism, of selfless service. under the sway of this constellation’s energy, we hew toward improving not just our immediate world, but the world around us, whether that means our neighborhood or the whole planet. bodhisattvas understand that if one person is hungry, we are all hungry; if one person suffers, we all suffer; that until everyone is free no one is free. what can you do today to ease the suffering of even one person, improve the life of even one person?
the symbol of the asterism dhanishtha can be either the mridanga or the bansuri—shiva’s drum or krishna’s flute, hollow vessels through which sound is carried, is manifested out into the universe. “in the beginning was the word, it was with god & it was god,” goes john 1:1. the word is said to have been “om,” which was the entire universe in potential, the seed syllable for all that is, & was thus from which the whole universe was manifested. the lesson of dhanishtha is that we are, like a drum or flute, all vessels full of potential. everything in our universe is vibration, including sound. make a sound, name it, & it can be so, but until we name it, say what we want to manifest it is just potential. today is a good day to get practical, name the thing you want to create & thus make it so.
it’s the fifth lunar day, the fifth phase of the waning moon, which is connected to goddess energy in the form of the moon, to the maternal energy of healing.
monday is ruled by the moon, which represents our essence, which is pure love. love is not something we can get “out there” from someone else. it is what we are.

what is preventing you from feeling love permeating your body & radiating out from it? what is preventing you from expressing your essence as pure, unadulterated love?
