it’s thursday, june 2, & moon is in gemini, in the starspace called punarvasu. in vedic astrology, gemini is symbolized not by twins but by a male & female couple–he’s holding a club, she’s playing a musical instrument—which represents our desire to embody both male & female perspectives, be fully masculine & fully feminine. the great news is that we don’t really need the opposite sex to do so—we contain multitudes!—that if, for example, people who identify as female fully embody the qualities of that gender, they will allow the positive qualities of their innate masculinity to arise & vice versa. how cool is that? can you see how anchoring into the energy of your preferred gender creates a solid container within which you can explore all that you be?

punarvasu means “the return” (punar) of the “light” (vasu) & is ruled by aditi, the universal mother, the ur-goddess herself, the source & essence of all creation. this asterism, coming after the storms of ardra, reminds us that the sun always comes out after it rains, day always follows night, & brings a lesson about the ever-renewing cycle of life, the infinite possibility, the boundlessness, of shakti to express herself through us. we are all, regardless of gender or gender identification, each & everyone of us shakti, the goddess. we all, each & everyone of us, have infinite powers of creation & recreation & self-creation.

it’s the third lunar day, the third phase of the waxing moon, which supports us in being flexible, pivoting if need be, & sharing our change of direction with others who might be affected. it’s ok to cancel lunch with a friend b/c it doesn’t feel loving to you—just make sure to do so in a timely & gracious way. a true friend will understand & see your act as awesome & inspiring modeling of self-care.

thursday is owned by jupiter, who gives us our beliefs & belief system. believing & disbelieving are, according to sadhguru, the same thing—one is believing positively, the other negatively; one is believing in god, the other is believing there is no god. beliefs are not facts, they are neither true or false, but they do give us solace, create a container of meaning for our lives, regardless. what do you believe & how does that create solace for you?

& that’s your daily bliss! which is a kind of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss. may it inspire you to enlighten up a little more each day.
