it’s friday, june 30, & moon is in scorpio, in the starspace called anuradha. after time in the land of relationship-oriented libra, we land in scorpio, the land of our worst fears & paranoias, which, ya know, usually arise as a result of our relationships—we get close to someone, we share vulnerably, & then we go, “omg, did i overshare, reveal too much, do they think i’m [fill in the blank]?!” these are just thoughts. thoughts are the ego’s control strategy; it controls “through your fear of loss of identity,” said baba ram dass. we think our thoughts are us, we identify with them. “to give up these thoughts, it seems, would annihilate you, & so you cling to them.” krishna stresses detachment—unclinging!—85 times in the bhagavad gita, people! ya think he’s serious? ya think he’s trying to make a point? when are we going to get it?
anuradha = “after, following” (anu) + “radha” (radha!), as in, following in the footsteps of radha, being like her, & is ruled by mitra, the divine friend, which is exactly what radha was to krishna—nothing less (& nothing more) than the bestie of god. this asterism brings a lesson about how we show up for our friends, fully in our integrity or not, fully in devotion to them or not, about whether we see them & honor them as aspects of the divine, singular representations of god. if we’re not sure, we can uplevel our friendships by asking, “what would radha do [WWRD]?!”
it’s the twelfth lunar day, the twelfth phase of the waxing moon, which is related to the sun, the inner light that clarifies our vision & guides our way on, keeps us on path.
friday is ruled by venus, planet of earthly delights, who, as i’ve already mentioned, isn’t exactly in her happy place now & isn’t going to be so for months, eeeegads! which means we may feel dissatisfied when it comes to all things venus, but especially love things. what to do? love on venus! feed her! nourish her! how? with venus food of course: get your car detailed … or at least washed! buy some new lingerie! get a haircut! sign up for an investment or alison armstrong course! eat chocolate! take bubble baths! let your eyes feast on art, all your senses feast in nature! listen to music! play kitchen god/dess for friends! get &/or give a massage! plant flowers!
& that’s your daily bliss! which is a sort of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss.
