it’s sunday, june 7, & moon is in sagittarius in the starspace called purvashadha. sagittarius is where we connect to a greater sense of purpose, where we find meaning for our lives, where the big picture takes form & becomes clear, or clearer.
there is a sense of invincibility about purvashadha, of the impossibility of innate gifts being suppressed—eventually, but inevitably, they will be revealed. after patti smith made her debut at st. marks church, reading her poetry accompanied by lenny kaye on badass electric guitar, she received all kinds of accolades & offers, including the possibility of a record contract, which she turned down—she didn’t think she deserved it b/c it had come too easily, after her first performance. it may have been her first performance, but she’d been being an artist for years. all the poetry she read & museums she visited & drawings she made & conversations she had with other artists & collaborations she collaborated on led to that moment—it wasn’t as if she just got on stage like a total neophyte; she’d been preparing for that coming out forever. i’m not sure if she denied her talent, but she denied her worthiness to be recognized for it. & look what happened: eventually, but inevitably, she could no longer suppress her gifts, her talent, & her star blazed.
so you can run, but you can’t hide. your gifts are meant to be shared with the world—& eventually, but inevitably, they will be. it is written. so why not now?
it’s the second day of the waning-moon cycle, which is related to our values—to what we value, how we feel valued, whether we are willing to stand for our values & actually live them, walk our talk.
it’s the sun’s day, which means it’s a good day to connect to the light of your vision & to move your body, or at least feel into your physical presence in the world. if your vision of a brighter future & your body come together at a march against racial injustice today, please make sure to wear a mask & carry hand sanitizer.
& that’s your daily bliss! which is a kind of lunar weather report. the moon is our consciousness & i hope that by unpacking the cosmic forces influencing it every day, you’ll be better able to understand & thus lean into its ever-changing vibrations & use them to your advantage.
