it’s wednesday, june 7, & moon is now in capricorn, in the starspace called uttarashadha. coming on the heels of faith-full sagittarius, capricorn invites us to put that faith into practice. ya know the expression “god helps those who help themselves”? that could be capricorn’s motto. b/c all the faith that we’re going to, say, land that awesome job means jack if we don’t actually network, send out résumés, schedule interviews & show up with our game face on. it’s time to get our game face on, people, set an intention, focus, take positive action steps &, hey, praying all the while—or chanting to ganesh (see below)—will not hurt!
uttarashadha means “later victory” & is the starry bridge between sagittarius & capricorn, transforming the one energy into the other. this asterism is ruled by the vishvadevas, the universal gods, who grant us the power to achieve our goals—that thing within us that cannot be denied (see yesterday’s post on purvashadha)—as long as we are aligned with what’s good for us & good for all. if you’re not sure, you might try the invocation “may it be so if it’s in the highest interest of all beings” & see what happens.
it’s the fourth lunar day, the fourth phase of the waning moon, which is ruled by both yama & ganesh, who is said to have been born on this tithi (lunar phase). yama is the god of death & restraint (which is, um, the ultimate restraint!), ganesh the lord of obstacles, the one who both brings & destroys (kills!) them. it’s a good day for destroying our enemies—& let’s face it, we are most of us our own worst enemies, the ones who restrain ourselves, prevent ourselves from, say, giving our all to what we want to accomplish, or seeing obstacles everywhere as excuses for not smacking down.
wednesday is ruled by mercury, who loves info & info’s vehicle, words. like “poggled” (pronounced POG-uhld), an adjective that means, according to “the dictionary of obscure sorrows,” one of my new fave books: “shocked upon looking twice at something you see every day & catching an obvious detail you’d never noticed before … which makes you wonder how much else of your world you might be missing, when you’re just barely there yourself.” may you all experience the surprise & “aha” of being poggled today!
& that’s your daily bliss! which is a sort of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss.
