it’s thursday, june 8, & moon is in capricorn, in the starspace called shravana. saturn-ruled capricorn vibrates with the nose-to-the-grindstone frequency of getting serious about our lives; for saturn gives us discipline & perseverance (wow—i spelled that correctly on the first try!) & a practical mind-set. he allows us to erect boundaries—not to keep anyone or anything out, but to create a safe container for our lives; he gives us structure. where in your life could you use a little more structure, a little more discipline, a little more perseverance? saturn is strong in his other home sign of aquarius, so do take advantage of the gifts he has on offer.
shravana is derived from the sanskrit verb śru (श्रु), which means “to hear.” hearing & listening are not the same thing—we can listen to someone talk without actually hearing what they are saying, right?—but hearing starts with listening, & listening starts with getting quiet, becoming fully present to what is arising. notice that “silent” & “listen” are composed of the same letters! in order to listen we have to get silent & in our silence we can really listen. &, taking it one step further, when we can really listen, we can hear. this asterism invites us into deep listening so we can hear—hear the other, yes, but/& ultimately hear the wisdom from our innermost voice.
it’s the sixth lunar day, the sixth phase of the waning moon, which supports us in celebrating our victories big & small. we don’t all have big stuff to celebrate every day, but all the little, smaller, positive action steps we take one at a time (see more below!) do, eventually but inevitably, add up to something big as big. which see where you are today versus where you were last year at this time.
thursday is ruled by jupiter, who gives you (us!) the wisdom, ultimately, to know that, as ram dass said, you are at this moment perfection itself, that “you merely have to give up your models in order to recognize yourself. it’s as simple as that. honor it, love it. don’t judge it. just allow it. give it all space.” jupiter also gives us the optimism to proceed, one step at a time, even though simple doesn’t mean easy.
& that’s your daily bliss! which is a sort of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss.
