it’s wednesday, june 9, & after a whirlwind road trip to chicago for a family wedding—for some reason i thought i could do 15-hour drives to & fro & socialize with my beloved cousins like crazy & still write the bliss, lol!—i’m back to tell you that moon is in taurus, in the starspace called rohini, & we have got a new moon & solar eclipse on the horizon, which i will write more about tomorrow, but do get ready, do start pondering what came up for you at the beginning of this eclipse cycle two weeks ago with the lunar eclipse in scorpio.
under the sway of taurus, we feel contentment. ultimately we want to feel contentment for no reason, but we can practice by feeling good with what is in terms of our material existence—by being grateful for the comforts of people & things & experiences, for all the good things in life.
“contentment is life living through you. / joy is life living through you. / satisfaction & strength is life living through you.” — from “hukosai says,” by roger s. keyes
rohini is ruled by prajapati, who (long story short) created humans by having sex with his daughter rohini, b/c she was his most beautiful daughter & he wanted to create the most beautiful beings possible. yikes! & thank you? so lots of creative energy under this asterism, but also the possibility of acting on inappropriate tendencies!
it’s the fifteenth lunar day, which means the moon is going to be its darkest dark today. if you’re feeling empty, as in totally receptive, that’s great; if not, what else can you release so that you can feel like a blank canvas on which to start painting something new tomorrow?
wednesday is ruled by mercury, who is retrograde now & is reminding us that we create ourselves & our world from thoughts, from our internal communication, from the inside out, that the world is a reflection of our thoughts. “cloud gate” (aka “the bean”), by sir anish kapoor, which sits in millennium park in chicago, was inspired by liquid mercury & both reflects & distorts all that passes before it. now’s a good time to ponder whether your thoughts reflect or distort the world around you.
& that’s your daily bliss! which is a kind of lunar weather report. it is my hope that the daily bliss can help you align with the day’s cosmic energy & find a little more bliss; that it inspires you to enlighten up a little more each day.
