it’s thursday, june 9, & moon is in virgo, in the starspace called hasta. mercury-ruled virgo is a tamasic earth sign: mercury gives virgo the ability to attend to details, tamas a preoccupation with what might go wrong, earth practicality. in the environment of hands-on virgo, we hew toward making concrete efforts to organize our lives to maintain a solid, impermeable container for our physical well-being. we make lists, establish routines, keep our home & body & car in tiptop shape, explore new protocols, put everything in our schedule, experiment with apps (hey, mercury loves technology) to keep us accountable. where might there be cracks in your container? good time to patch them!
speaking of hands-on, hasta actually means “hands,” as in our hands, as in the hands of god. this asterism brings a lesson about the humility that comes from realizing that we are but vehicles for the divine, that what we create, offer to the world, is but the divine working through us, flowing through us, energizing & activating us, passing through us. we do not own it, but are conduits, thus we can offer it up with generosity & without attachment. from the hands of god to us & from our hands to the world. as it comes, so it goes.
it’s the tenth lunar day, the tenth phase of the waxing moon, which is connected to doing our dharma. “dharma” can be translated as being in beautiful alignment with our highest purpose, the reason we are here. which can be a challenge. thanks to self-doubt or worrying (so virgo!) about what others will think if we are truly, authentically who we be.

when we are in alignment with our dharma we naturally radiate beauty, which is our essence.
thursday is owned by jupiter, aka guru. the guru is the one who gives us perspective on who we are & why we are here, who ultimately brings us to the gnosis that we are each, as ram dass put it, “a soul, evolving toward oneness. … a pinprick of awareness in the star field of the cosmos.”
