it’s monday, january 12, & moon is in libra, & will be in the starspace called viśakhā at 8:30 a.m. MST, a half-hour after i post this. libra vibrates with the frequency of the transactional nature of our relationships. whether business, platonic, romantic, familial (except between parent & child from the parent’s side; kids always want something, right?!), we want something from our connections & have to give something in return to maintain, & hopefully increase the value of, them.
ideally we give as good as we get, get as good as we give.
with libra’s ruling planet, venus, combust, getting singed by sun’s rays right now, we get to purify, bring clarity to, clean up, assess value, declutter our relationship house, recalibrate the scales.
viśakhā is the only nakshatra ruled by two deities, indra & agni, sometimes personified as indragni—two, two, two gods in one. indra is the king, who represents material existence; agni, the priest, who represents our spiritual existence. the king needs the priest to bless his endeavors, the priest is financed by the king. it is a mutually beneficial relationship, a pure expression of libra’s energy.
this asterism reminds us that we are spiritual beings having a material experience—our existence is doubly divinely supported; we are two gods (mints?!) in one.
do the material & the spiritual aspects of your life support each other, exist in balance, create a feeling of harmony?
it’s the tenth lunar day (tithi), the tenth phase of the waning moon, which is connected to dharma, to living our life purpose, expressing the truth of who we are b/c we must, not b/c it’s going to bring a six- (or ten-!) figure income. earning is a byproduct of dharma, a bonus, the cherry on top, the chocolate chips in your ice cream.
those coaching programs promising big bux if you slap down big bux? not dharmic if $ is the primary goal. those offerings (& there are awesome spiritual teachers i will refrain from outing who do this) that entice you with a “free” trial for which you have to slap down your credit card info & will be charged a subscription fee if you forget to cancel? not dharmic.
it’s not “free” if something is expected in return—it’s transactional.
dharma is not transactional.
just saying!
monday is ruled by moon, the queen, who, in the planetary pantheon, is the embodiment of the divine feminine. we silence the divine feminine when we don’t trust, when we doubt, our intuition, give others power over the truth rather than owning our own power to know it, says feminist theologian meggan watterson.
& that’s your daily bliss! which is a sort of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss.
