it’s friday, july 4, & moon is in libra, in the starspace called swātī. libra, like friday, is ruled by venus, who is all relationships all the time. libra’s sanskrit name is tulā, which means “balancing,” “weighing,” “comparing,” as in arriving at equality, as in getting as good as we’re getting, whether in a commercial sense (paying a fair price for a product) or with our people (not overgiving, not overcompromising to get love).
on a worldly level, saturn, whose sign of exaltation (where he operates with highest intelligence) is libra, wants to make sure working people get their fare share, that democracy is functioning, that the scales aren’t weighed big time in big $’s & big biz’s favor—oh, if only saturn were in libra!
i am going to write soon about what’s up with saturn & whether there is hope for a rebalance, but meanwhile we can pay attention to our relationships—business, romantic, familial—& ask ourselves whether we’re lowering our standards, tolerating being mistreated or not seen, & if so, to cut it out. none of us deserves to give our time to people who aren’t emotionally available for deep connection, who make us feel small as small rather than big as big, who put us down rather than lift us up.
swātī is swift like the wind & reminds us to pay attention to our own wind(s), to our prana, our vital life force, our precious faculties of attention & intention, to harness or be harnessed by them.
it’s the tenth lunar day (tithi), the tenth phase of the waxing moon, which supports doing our dharma, what our soul loves & craves, is called to, regardless of what’s going on around us.

friday is venus’ day. each sign is connected to a body part; pisces, venus’ sign of exaltation, to feet. so work your venus muscle today by giving your feet some TLC:
• paint your toes
• slather your feet with castor oil, cover them with cotton socks & go to sleep
• wash your feet before bed
& that’s your daily bliss! which is a sort of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss.
