it’s friday, march 17, & moon is in capricorn, in the starspace called uttarashadha. after being in the frequency of inspiration in jupiter-ruled sagittarius, we get to be in the frequency of seriousness AF in saturn-ruled capricorn. we get to bring the lofty, ethereal & intangible down to earth, make it material & tangible; for saturn reminds us that we don’t have forever, that time is finite, & he also gives us the discipline & perseverance & patience to do the work, making it happen.
uttarashadha means “later” (uttara) “victory” (ashadha) & is ruled by the vishwadevas, the ten universal gods—truth, goodness, willpower, etc.—who give us the strength to win as long as we & our purpose are in righteous alignment with the gods, as long as we know we need help & ask for it. we purified ourselves yesterday in purvashadha (see that post for more) & so are ready to ask & then receive today.
it’s the eleventh lunar day (tithi), the eleventh phase of the waning moon, which supports spiritual practices, especially but not exclusively fasting. growing up jewish, i thought that fasting was punishment since it was done on yom kippur, the day of atonement. but later in adulthood i learned that the opposite was true, that we fasted so that our body & mind weren’t distracted by food, by being taken out of the present moment by our body digesting our last meal or our mind thinking about our next one, & we could concentrate more easily on god, were more receptive to nourishment from the divine by being more fully present. meditation is also designed to bring us more into the present moment.
as the great sage russell brand has shared: “the point of meditation is to return myself continually to the present moment. to watch how i have a tendency mentally to be thinking about something from the past or projecting to something in the future.”
friday is ruled by venus, planet of love.
“people say love is blind b/c they don’t know what love is. i say unto you, only love has eyes; other than love, everything is blind.”—osho
how’s your vision?! what lens are you seeing life through, seeing people through?
& that’s your daily bliss! which is a sort of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss. may it inspire you to enlighten up a little more each day.
