it’s monday, march 18, & moon is in gemini, in the starspace called punarvasu. gemini vibrates with the frequency of curiosity & communication, for ruling planet mercury loves to think & talk, especially about what he’s thinking. with mercury in pisces these days, where he is debilitated, we may not be thinking so clearly, we may be dreaming or fantasizing & mistaking that for merc’s famous discriminating intelligence. & rahu is sitting practically right on top of mercury right now, adding to the confusion. so it’s probs a good idea to think about where our mind is taking us before we talk about it, do our best to get a reality check before we do.
punarvasu means “the return of the light” & reminds us that inner & outer storms don’t last forever, that the sun always comes out, eventually but inevitably. it is a movable asterism, gets our life moving again after what may have felt as if it was at a standstill, which is often how it feels when we are experiencing emotional turmoil—like this is always how it’s been & always will be, isn’t it? punarvasu is ruled by aditi, goddess of abundance & mother to all. her name means “unbounded,” as in her love is unbounded, like the sun’s rays. love is what moves everything forward, what animates & motivates, it is the shakti of creation. how can you tap into that energy today?
it’s the ninth lunar day (tithi), the ninth phase of the waxing moon, until late morning MDT, then the tenth. the ninth tithi is related to serpent energy, the tenth to dharma. serpents are harbingers of wisdom, which arises when we slither into the nooks & crannies of our negative tendencies & zap them with the venom of awareness. the more negative tendencies we extract from their hiding places & get our fangs into, the more able we are to live our dharma, our highest purpose.
monday is ruled by the moon, who connects us to our intuition, which is heart-thinking, a higher state of thinking, than mercury/gemini’s head-thinking (no offense, merc!).
