it’s monday, march 20, & moon is in aquarius, in the starspace called purvabhadra. aquarius vibrates with the frequency of humanitarianism, of our sense of being one with all the other inhabitants of planet earth & wanting to do our bit to improve our shared experience here. tonight is the spring equinox, which reminds us that our planet has its own intrinsic rhythms & cycles, which cannot & will not be denied. our efforts to try to bend them to our will through artificial means like, gasp, daylight savings time (which we know is not about farmers but about getting us to shop!) & cloud seeding (wtf?!), which is a pathetic & perilous attempt to cover up the mess we’ve made of the climate by living unsustainably, out of balance with nature. we would do well to ponder how we each are & are not living in right relationship with nature, perhaps how we might be taking more than we are giving back, taking more than we need, how we might be recklessly & selfishly using earth’s resources.
purvabhadra is ruled by aja ekapad, the one-footed goat or serpent, who is the cosmic form of agni, the sacred fire of purification & thus transformation. this asterism brings the possibility of insights that have the ability to, if we embrace them, uplevel our lives, to spiritualize them by raising our sights, our aspirations.
it’s the fourteenth lunar day (tithi), the fourteenth phase of the waning moon, which means, among other things, that we’re going to have a new moon tomorrow. it’s an inauspicious day for anything other than spiritual practices, ideally preparing for the new moon by releasing what needs to go, pondering what we want to manifest in the next lunar cycle. given that it will be born in pisces, we might ask ourselves if we are ready to trust the mystery.
monday is ruled by the moon, who gives us the ability & desire to connect generously with others. “attention is the rarest & purest form of generosity,” said simone weil. i once had a partner who said to me, “i can’t believe how present you are.” presence means giving your full attention to another, being fully present with them, feeling bathed in the full attention of another, holding & seeing, being held & seen, nourishing & being nourished. how can you be more generous with your people by being more present with them?
& that’s your daily bliss! which is a sort of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss. may it inspire you to enlighten up a little more each day.
