it’s friday, march 22, & moon is in leo, in the starspace called magha. leo is ruled by the sun, whose light obliterates the light of all other planets, which is why we can’t see them in the daytime. but/& sun also shines his light, shares his light, magnanimously, selflessly, with one & all, for the greater good of all. sun gives & gives & gives, consistently & generously, without expecting anything in return, b/c he can. leo invites us to be the sun, to shine our light. b/c we can, & b/c when we do it’s not to obliterate the light of others but to inspire them to shine their light too.
magha brings a lesson about honoring our ancestors, our roots, which extend & connect us to all of nature. “i believe that humanity’s original wound is seeing ourselves as separate from nature,” says dr. zach bush. “so much of what we struggle with as individuals & as a humanity lies within the disconnection we have created with the earth.” healing our ancestral karma includes our karma with the earth is one way to honor it.
it’s the thirteenth lunar day (tithi), the thirteenth phase of the waxing moon, which means two more days before the full moon, overnight on march 24, when the earth will pass between sun & moon, blocking the moon’s light for a wee bit, making for a lunar eclipse. which will be partial & when most of us are sleeping, so not as intense as it might be. but still … when moon is eclipsed, so is our consciousness, inviting what’s lurking in our subconscious, in the shadows, to make an appearance. it’s helpful to take some quiet time between now & then to notice what’s been arising, what karma is nagging at you. the eclipse happens in the axis of pisces & virgo, so if you have planets there, especially in hasta nakshatra (that would be me!), the eclipse energy will be more obvious or intense. more on monday!
friday is ruled by venus, planet of our earthly delights, which usually, but not necessarily, includes our people. that’s why friday—not saturday, ruled by stick-in-the-mud saturn!—is considered vedic date night. venus is our embodied experience, the pleasure we get from having bodies through which we get to experience the delights brought to us by our senses. what are your favorite tastes, touches, sights, sounds, smells?
& that’s your daily bliss! which is a sort of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss.
