it’s wednesday, march 2, & we have a new moon in aquarius, in the starspace called shatabhishak. aquarius is the sign of the collective, of humanity as a whole, of the global village. under the sway of this sign we want to do something to improve the world around us & are willing to make a big or small sacrifice, knowing that we are all connected & that what’s good for the world is ultimately good for us—it’s called enlightened self-interest.
shatabhishak means 100 healers & brings a lesson about thinking outside the box to cure what ails, that sometimes it does take going to myriad doctors & therapists & shamans & nutritionists before we find what works. & sometimes it does take a village, like—dare i say?—now.
the village is all of us, it’s the people, all the people. it’s each one of us taking responsibility to heal the great sickness the world has been suffering from—the divisiveness, the you’re wrong & i’m right, the fear-mongering, the disrespect, the corruption. it’s up to each of us to stop judging & blaming & criticizing, to stop acting like the problems are coming from “out there,” as if we haven’t created them. if there is corruption & censorship, if our air & land & water are polluted, it’s b/c we, the people, have allowed it, have not held our leaders accountable, have not pushed back against them, have been weak & lazy. wars don’t happen all by themselves. we allow them by not standing hard enough for peace.

with the moon at its darkest, so is our consciousness, but it’s the darkness before the light, the blank canvas before we paint our life anew. if we, the people, take our role as healers seriously, hew toward our light, if each of us stands hard for something, we can, as a global village, accomplish miracles in the coming lunar cycle. what are you willing to stand hard for?
wednesday is ruled by mercury, who is curious, seeks out new experiences & new information & then uses the power of discriminating intelligence to winnow the wheat from the chaff, to decide what’s true & what’s not, what stays & what goes. mercury loves to cancel, clear, delete! & no better time than a new moon!
