it’s thursday, march 2, & moon is in gemini, in the starspace called punarvasu, which will support & transport moon into cancer tonight. so we have another day to explore new interests & figure out which ones, if any, we want to stick with, that resonate not just brain-wise but heart-wise as well.
punarvasu is ruled by aditi, the divine mother herself, the giver of abundance, the ur-nourisher, & reminds us that the light (vasu) always returns (punar), just as the rains (see yesterday’s post about ardra) nourish the earth & bring new growth. punarvasu can also be translated as “good again” or “wealthy again.” are you feeling good again? what makes you feel truly wealthy, truly abundant? can you feel that abundance comes from within?
it’s the eleventh lunar day, the eleventh phase of the waxing moon, which supports us in finding “peace not by rearranging the circumstances of [our] life, but by realizing who [we] are at the deepest level,” as eckhart tolle has said. we do that through our spiritual practices, which are like timeouts from the hustle & bustle of the rest of our lives. in the vaishnavite tradition, the eleventh tithi (lunar phase) is spent fasting, but any practice, like meditation, that brings us closer to our true self, closer to god, to our god nature, is supported today. & it’s a great, good day to re-up if you’ve fallen off the spiritual practices bandwagon!
thursday is ruled by jupiter, who connects us to the wisdom that allows us to tap into & achieve our highest purpose. “we have to have a purpose greater than the endless struggle to satisfy personal desires,” wrote eknath easwaran, who also said to “make your life a work of art.” jupiter & venus are hanging out together in pisces, where both planets are powerful & even more powerful together. (& you can see their closeness in the early evening sky!) venus represents art & love & relationships, & its highest expression is that love, that art, that connects to something greater than ourselves, that transcends material reality. if our highest purpose is to be works of art ourselves, this would be a good day to feel into how we are or are not on track & ask the guru, which is jupiter’s sanskrit name, for guidance.
& that’s your daily bliss! which is a sort of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss. may it inspire you to enlighten up a little more each day.
