it’s tuesday, march 5, & moon is in sagittarius, in the starspace called purvashadha. sagittarius is ruled by jupiter, planet of hope & wisdom, the former coming from the latter, the latter coming from teachers & teachings, which could be anyone & anything—people, books, life situations/experiences. wisdom comes from applying what we learn, our accrued knowledge. in yoga sutra 1.7, patanjali says, “pratyaksha anumana agamah pramanani,” that there are three forms of valid knowledge (pramanani): 1) direct perception through our own five senses (pratyaksha), from what is right in front of our eyes; 2) inference (anumana), drawing conclusions through observations & logical deductions, which comes from our intellect (manas); 3) testimony (agama), knowledge gained through reliable sources, like trusted teachers or well-vetted texts. we get to ask ourselves where we are getting the knowledge we are turning into wisdom, if our sources are sound. one test might be assessing the results of our wisdom, whether the reality we have created aligns us with the highest.

purvashadha reminds us of that seed within us that is itching to grow. & it is surely related to our dharma (which see more below!). what would scratching that itch that will keep annoying you for the rest of your life if you don’t look like? there’s no time to scratch like the present!

it’s the tenth lunar day (tithi), the tenth phase of the waning moon, which is related to dharma, to fulfilling our soul purpose, our highest expression of self. if you don’t know what yours is, try living “for one day, one hour, as though you were going to die, actually going to die the next hour,” wrote krishnamurti. “if you knew you were about to die, what would you do? … if you can live one hour as completely as that, you can live completely for the rest of you life.”

tuesday is ruled by mars, our warrior spirit, who is exalted for ten more days in capricorn. which means he’s operating with his highest intelligence. which means he’s focused, powerful, courageous. which means we have a wee bit longer to get ‘er done, whatever that means for us—train hard for a triathlon, finish a work project, use our leadership abilities for the greater good, till the garden b/c spring is on the horizon.

& that’s your daily bliss! which is a sort of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss.
