it’s friday, march 5, & moon is in scorpio, in the starspace called jyeshtha. under the sway of scorpio’s energy, we assess/test/deepen our capacity for emotional stability, to allowing our hearts to be open to what arises & going bravely with that emotional flow, observing rather than obsessing. with scorpio’s ruler, mars, now in taurus, giving its potentially volatile gaze to the moon here, we want to make sure that we are not being closed emotionally or clinging obsessively.
jyeshtha means “eldest” & is ruled by indra. the eldest, just as kings like indra, are often responsible for others, for their younger siblings. with responsibility comes power—or maybe it’s the other way around?! the eldest often, or can, lord it over the younger ones, abuse their power, act like know-it-alls & make those who don’t know it all feel less than. so let’s not do that. if we know something, let’s share that knowledge graciously & humbly, with the understanding that spreading the truth benefits everyone.
it’s the eighth phase of the waning moon, which is connected to the eight vasus, the creative principles of life. the vasus allow us to manifest what we want based on our values. if you’re not sure what you value, look around you: who & what is in your life—who is in your bed? who do you talk to on the phone? what do you spend the bulk of your time doing? what books are on your shelf? what objets hold special meaning for you?
friday is ruled by venus. venus is our capacity to maximize the experience of being incarnated in human form, & the odds of that are something like 1 in 14 million!
